Frequently asked questions

How often should I rebalance?
Common approaches are once or twice a year, or whenever a holding drifts more than ~5% from target. This calculator shows the drift and the exact trades whenever you check.
Can I add new cash instead of selling?
Yes — enter new cash and it's included in the total before the targets are applied, so more of it flows to underweight holdings. With enough new cash the buys can outweigh the sells, cutting taxable selling.
